Minn. DNR closing trails to vehicles in 4 forests

St. Paul, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is temporarily closing trails in several state forests to off-highway vehicle travel because of wet and sloppy conditions.

The agency says the early spring break-up and unseasonably warm weather have left trails in the Pine Island, Smokey Bear, Koochiching, and Kabetogama state forests unusable to most vehicles over 1,500 pounds.
